Eosinophilic fasciitis is a localized fibrosing disorder characterized by edema, skin thickening and peripheral eosinophilia. Lymphedema tarda and eosinophilic fasciitis have many similar features on clinical presentation. We report the case of a 31-year-old man presenting with swelling and pain of the left lower limbs primarily, who was diagnosed with eosinophilic fasciitis. The disease entity of eosoinophilic fasciitis is not clearly understood. In this case, swelling, redness, and pain of the left lower and both upper extremities occurred abruptly and aggravated after high-intensity exercise. Among these symptoms, the asymmetric swelling of the left lower extremity was the chief complaint so we considered the possibility of lymphedema tarda. This case report emphasizes the necessity of considering eosinophilic fasciitis if a patient has the swelling with peripheral eosinophilia.
